A native of Pinehurst, North Carolina, John first came to Charleston when he was about six months old. His family has had a vacation home on Kiawah Island since the mid-1970's. Kiawah is where John spent most of his summers growing up along with regular visits to downtown Charleston.
A business major from Appalachian State Univerity, John began his real estate career in 2002 as an intern at the real estate office on nearby Seabrook Island. After college graduation in 2003, he joined the real estate team on Seabrook. A year later, he was offered a sales position on Kiawah Island. John worked and lived on Kiawah and with his knowledge and family history, he excelled in sales in this luxury resort community
In May 2009, John married his college sweetheart on the beach on Kiawah Island. In his free time, he enjoys golf, traveling, reading, going to the beach and spending time with his wife, Joanna, and two cats.
